Transparency
The organisation needs visibility into which tools are in use, what data is flowing through them, which vendors sit underneath them, and whether decisions can be audited later.
Human in the loop, or just the final click?
"Human in the loop" often sounds safer than it is. If people are only approving polished AI output without enough context or authority to challenge it, the human is not really in control.
For revenue leaders, meaningful oversight matters most where AI touches customers, people, and money. That is where judgement must be explicit, not ceremonial.

Senior revenue leaders do not need to pause all AI adoption. They do need a clearer operating model. A practical starting agenda:
- Map where AI is already influencing customer-facing and revenue-critical workflows.
- Separate low-risk productivity use cases from high-impact commercial decisions.
- Assign clear ownership for the highest-risk use cases.
- Test whether "human oversight" is real or merely a final sign-off.
- Review vendors as providers of decision-influencing capability, not just software.
